A choice Egyptian steatite scarab, 2nd Intermediate period, c. 1750 - 1075 BC, the body well-carved with trapezoidal head. On base, the sedge and bee, symbols of the Pharaoh, above a gold sign and flanked by signs on goodness and life. 20 x 15 mm. Holed lengthwise for suspension. Well-detailed and a beautiful scarab!
