Elephant ivory sculpture representing the body of the dying Christ, of Italian origin. Preservation: Christ is fixed on a wooden panel and it is intact, with its original patina. Condition as visible in pictures. Size of the Christ from head to toe: approx. 14 cm. The arm opening is sized 10 cm approx. The whole work is sized 63 x 42 cm. Entirely in gold leaf, very well preserved and is completely original, including its ground mercury mirrors, all hand sculpted. Period: full 1800s.
