Christ, Corpus Christ (large format) - Ivory, Wood - Late 19th century

An imposing Corpus Christi entirely carved in ivory, including the INRI plate. Complete crucifixes with such sculptural quality are very rare! Please note the delicacy and peculiarity of the details such as the raised veins and the open mouth with carved teeth and tongue! Size of Christ: 21 x 15 cm. Total size: 45. 3 x 24 cm. Dating from the first half of the 19th century, it is in an excellent state of preservation, especially the fingers. Age-related stains, and normal wear. See condition on the detailed pictures. Very neat with insurance and signature required upon receipt, only in the EU. Items may temporarily be shipped from Italy.
