*Christian DIOR haute couture X John Galliano - Collection Printemps/Eté 1998 "Hommage à la Marchesa Casati" - Ensemble en jersey baby Pink composé d'un haut boutonné, d'une jupe et d'un pantalon ample en crêpe mousseline, ceinture. Griffes blanches, graphisme noir. (Légères salissures) Bibliographie : "According to the collection notes. Act III of Galliano's homage to the Marchesa Casati, Story of a Voyage in First Class, envisioned "The wanderings of the Marchesa Casati accross Europe." The models were presented as travel ensembles, and they were all named after famous ships or cruise lines. Two of the most notable models were Lucitania and Cunard Line, both of which featured elements inspired by Monsieur Dior's Bar suit (...) Running down the center of both were self-fabric buttons described as "hussar half-bobbles" in the collection notes, a Galliano trademark seen in the evening dress he designed for Princess Diana. Like most other models in the section, they were paired with bias-cut skirts draped elantly to the side, approximating the asymmetrical skirts of late nineteenth - and early twentieth - century sidesaddleriding habits" dans le livre "Christian Dior John Galliano 1997-2002" aux éditions Assouline 2021, page 62.
