Christian objects - .915 silver - 1700-1750
Spanish colonies Peru or Guatemala
Fantastic sterling silver stoup. With hallmark of the Spanish colonial Viceroyalty of Peru or Guatemala, 18th century. (N . . . RZEA) or something similar. The stamp is not very legible but if it is removed from the back it is certainly readable by removing the stoup from its contemporary wooden support. Excellent goldsmith work all done by hand, and with chisel and graver work. The holy water container is shaped like a shell and is supported by an eagle. In the center is the image of a Virgin. Period piece, very interesting for its colonial origin.
It is in good condition, it only has a crack on each side, in the lower part of the cross (see photo n. 3) and a small restoration on the neck of the eagle
Dimensions: 53 cm high, gross weight is gr. 1166
Given the delicacy and fragility of the work, it will be professionally packaged and shipped via express courier
