Christien Meindertsma's flax light 10 meters combines her contemporary handwriting in perfect harmony with the traditional Dutch 16th-century rope industry. By analysing the history of this craft, she has reduced the rope to the original Dutch material: flax. With the help of flax, the filaments are spun into flax yarns, after which they are turned into strands. Meindertsma's fresh and innovative approach to the very old technique results in this lamp made of very supple rope, among others.
