Christofle/Manufacture de L'Alfenide - Cutlery set for 12 (61) - Art Deco - Silverplate

Beautiful silver-plated cutlery in its original case, produced by Christofle in the Alfenide. The set dates from the Art Deco period, from approximately 1930 to 1950. The cutlery set consists of a total of 61 heavily silver-plated parts, which have a stepped pattern. The fronts are slightly convex, the backs are concave.

- Serving spoon
- Sugar tongs

The cutlery is in excellent condition, with minor scratches due to use. The cassette is in good condition, with some stains in the upholstery.

Christofle's Alfenide line was created when the company purchased the silver manufacturer Manufacture de L'Alfenide in 1888. Rather than fully integrate the company into the parent company, Christofle allowed the company to continue producing silverware under its own brand name. At the beginning of the 20th century, de Man. Alfenide launched the famous brand name Gallia, which focused on Art Nouveau productions. From 1935 onwards, the cutlery was also stamped with the well-known Christofle Chess Piece brand.
