At the beginning of the twentieth century, he attended the Santa Croce School for Decorative and Industrial Arts there. In 1908, he made his debut at the Promotrice of Florence with a rustic sketch and in the immediately following period he made a long stay in Paris, the city where he remained until 1914. Between landscapes and scenes: a loose and luminous brushstroke During these years, he actively participated in the Parisian cultural climate, exhibiting at the Salon, but at the same time he continued to send his works to Italy. Cipriano Mannucci's painting is moved by a feeling of vibrant poetry that can be read in the adoption of a loose and very bright brushstroke and in the choice of subjects taken from everyday life. In his first production there are both genre scenes and landscapes characterized by a broad cursive stroke, but also feminine portraits of refined elegance that place the painter in the context of liberty style. On some occasions, when he is dealing with themes with the most disturbing sensations, as occurs in the painting Towards the light, he adopts long strands of wavy color that bring him closer to Divisionism. In this work, undoubtedly linked to the symbolist sphere, he employs a dark chromatism crossed by sudden flashes of light, in the dramatic representation by an elegant struggle between life and death, which silently lurks behind the pale but fascinating woman dressed in white . After returning to Italy and with the end of the First World War, Cipriano Mannucci resumed exhibiting in Florence in 1920, with the Portrait of his daughter Dina. In 1923, with one of his most successful works, Ungrateful Age, he obtained the silver medal at the Rio International Exhibition. Between the 1920s and 1930s, he was called to exhibit in London, Edinburgh, Brussels and Antwerp. In 1931 he participated in the Quadrennial of Rome with Fisherwoman and Portrait, while the following year he was at the Tuscan Regional Art Exhibition with Portrait of a Lady with Child and with Portrait of a Young Lady and Portrait of a Young Girl. In the same year, he is also at the Venice Biennale with Venezuelan Woman. His success abroad is particularly significant: his canvases are requested by numerous American collectors; in fact, today some of his liberty-style allegorical compositions are placed in the United States, including the Great Triptych and The Triumph of Law. Always focused on the use of bright shades, treated with a soft and quick touch, Cipriano Mannucci continues to exhibit until the 1940s, focusing on the infinite facets of the female figure, declined according to the ethnic groups represented and the activities in which he is engaged: Gamma of white and pink, In the pine forest, Tyrrhenian peasant, Gypsy, Tuscan peasant, Young fisherwoman from Boccadasse, Harvest of our people, Smile of Egypt, Carmela.
