Condition Report:
Relined. Rubbing to the framing edges with associated loss and white blemishes especially to the lower edge and upper right corner. Paint is thinning in areas, possibly as a result of the reline. Craquelure and surface dirt throughout. Stretcher marks visible. There has been a possible reaction to the pigment to the left of the sitter's head. A patch repair with visible retouching to the lower left quadrant. Inspection under UV reveals scattered retouching and a green cloudy masking varnish which may be distorting the extent of retouching.
