Ellen married William Morland in 1724. They had three daughters, Elizabeth, Mary and Ellen and one son, Thomas Morland.
Condition Report:
Relined. Small areas of very fine craquelure scattered throughout. Rubbing to the framing edges. Stretcher marks partially visible. Scattered retouching visible in natural light most notable to a patch on the right hand edge. A possible patch repair above the sitter's right shoulder. There is a layer of uneven varnish. Inspection under UV reveals scattered retouching most notably to the dress and a green masking varnish.
