Citroën - Type B - NO RESERVE - 1921

[ translate ]

The Citroën Type B2 is Citroën's second car, built by André Citroën between 1921 and 1926. In June of 1921, the Citroën B2 replaced the Citroën Type A. It has a four-cylinder engine with 1452 cc and 20 HP, a top speed of 72 km/h, fuel consumption of 8 litres per 100 km and three speeds. It quickly built a reputation for reliability and efficiency. The Type B2 was built in the historic Citroën factories at the Quai de Javel in the 15th arrondissement of Paris (now Quai André Citroën) with 200 units a day and 25 different bodies, in the same way as the Ford T was manufactured. He had studied this way of manufacturing, based on Taylorism, on his trip to the Ford factories in Detroit (United States) during the First World War. The successor was the B10 in 1924, followed by the B12 in 1925. This B2 is the 10th chassis that left the factory. Which makes this a very special car. The car is mechanically and electrically entirely in order, as are the bodywork and the interior. The chassis shows no sign of corrosion. A beautiful convertible, with leather seats in good condition. The original roof is torn at the sides (see pictures) . We have owned the car for more than 30 years and it was refurbished down to the last detail in the early 2000s. A great pre-war convertible to drive around in this summer. The vehicle can be viewed and picked up in the region of Kortrijk. It is recommended to view the vehicle prior to placing a bid in order to prevent disappointment afterwards.
