Vanclee Mungo 1988 - Unique car - Can be used as a pickup truck, (partial) convertible, SUV for 4/5 people - Original Dutch car - Includes hardtop - Solidly built car; stronger than the Mehari - Electronic ignition Eric Vandewalle founded the brand in 1967. It started with his first buggy. This off-road vehicle had a wooden superstructure. At one point Vandewalle met mr Georges Cleririnckx. Georges was familiar with working with plastics such as polyester. This resulted in them starting to build cars together using polyester bodies. The first 3 letters of both surnames were used in the title that we know to this day; Vanclee. Finally, the end of the off-road tracks and highways for sports cars was in sight. This was after the market collapsed during the recession of the early 1980s. Vanclee then built the Mungo until 1989. This was done on the basis of the 2CV. The 600 Mungo, Ernet, Ernu and Rusler models were all based on the Citroën 2CV chassis. The original two-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 602 cc drove the front wheels. These cars have plastic bodywork with a choice of cloth or hardtops at the rear. The 600 Mungo is 25 cm shorter than the Citroën Méhari. This is an orange Vanclee Mungo from 1988. It is finished in a striking and unique orange colour, which still looks neat (not professionally painted) . Together with both the white roof and the white hardtop, this is a good combination. The interior has black upholstery. This is still in beautiful condition. At the bottom of the car there are still the original white 15" rims. You can use this Belgian car in three different ways; with a hard top, with a soft top or even as a pickup truck. There are so many possibilities with this interesting Vanclee. A few years ago, many technical points were addressed during maintenance. For example, both the front and rear brakes have been overhauled: new brake cylinders and master cylinder, new brake shoes, and brake pads. In addition, a new exhaust was mounted, the carburettor was overhauled, and much more. In short, this is a unique and beautiful Vanclee that is ready for more adventures! Due to its age, the car may have suffered minor signs of wear, please see the photos. There is also a crack in the windscreen, see photo. The car can be viewed in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands. We can arrange transport for you.
