Civil War Bound Volume of Union General Orders, Department of the Cumberland, 1863-1864

Two volumes, each with front and back wood braces, with holes at each end through which string is laced through holes in the papers. "Index of General Orders, Department of the Cumberland, 1863" on front of larger volume. The index may be for 1863, but the General orders bound with them are for 1864. These were issued by the War Department in Washington, though they may have been sent to officers in the Army of the Cumberland. Although not totally collated, GO Nos. 1 - 282 appear to be complete, plus 376, 379, 386, 389 and 399. The second book is primarily General Orders issued by the Department of the Cumberland, but also includes Circulars, a few GOs issued by Washington, and other miscellaneous papers. It is far from complete, being only 80 pages or so.
Condition Report: Handling wear as expected. Many orders in the second book not cut.
