Civil War cartridge box by Gaylord, Chicopee, Massachusetts. Cartridge box exhibits impressed US on flap with Gaylord information and June 7th, 1864 date. Flap also stamped as inspected by A.D. Laidley of the US Ordinance Department. Cartridge box contains tins and exhibits tear and loss to closing tab as well as dryness, dirt, and verdigris on some metal parts. Provenance: Eugene T.
