Civil War Era G.H. Ferris Utica NY Percussion Muzzleloader Heavy Bench Rifle
Rifles like these were often used during Civil War times as sniper rifles. Features a 26.5" octagon barrel, 1.25" across barrel flats, barrel is turned for false muzzle and fitted with a bullet starter. Equipped with the correct false muzzle with sight shield. Barrel is stamped "GH FERRIS UTICA" and is fitted with a William Malcolm of Syracuse NY 20X power scope with crosshair reticle. Barrel is also fitted steel steady rest. Percussion patent breech action with single set trigger control. Walnut piano finished stock with steel hardware. CALIBER: 45 Caliber. S/N: N/A. FFL STATUS: Antique.
Condition Report: Overall good condition with metal showing light surface discoloration and metal fading to silvery gray patina. Wood shows traces of original finish with usage marks and dings. Scope is in need of professional cleaning. Dark bore with functioning mechanics.
