Civil War period shoulder straps including: 1.) Staff captain's single border shoulder strap with black staff background. Strap measures 1.5" x 4" and exhibits wear and mothing at edges, 2.) Smith Patent double border shoulder strap for a medical officer. Strap measures 2" x 5" and presents gothic "M S" insignia in field that has been heavily mothed and faded. Provenance: Eugene T.
