A Civil War U.S. Model 1850 foot officer's sword and scabbard by Collins and Co, CT. 32" blade with etched martial symbols. Ricasso marked "COLLINS & CO/ HARTFORD/ CONN./ 1862." Gilt brass with pierced floral guard. Sharkskin wire wrapped grip. Gilt brass and leather scabbard. 38" overall. 32 1/2" scabbard Condition: 75% of original finish. Cracks in leather scabbard. Light wear on grips.
