A Civil War U.S. Model 1840 "Old Wristbreaker" Tiffany & Co. imported sword with scabbard blade by Peter D. Luneschloss, Solingen. 35 1/2" blade. Ricasso marked "TIFFANY & CO./ NEW-YORK" and "PDL" on reverse. Iron cross guard. Leather wire wrapped grip. Iron scabbard. 37" scabbard. 41 1/2" overall. Condition: Dark patina on iron. Remnants of light pitting on blade, shows sign of cleaning. Loss of leather grip. Provenance: Purchased from James Cohen and Sons in New Orleans, LA in 1998.
