A Civil War U.S Navy Model 1852 Officer's Sword by William. H. Horstmann & Sons, Philadelphia. Circa 1852-1963. 28" blade with etched naval designs. Maker mark on ricasso and iron proof on reverse. Gilt copper crossguard with eagle surrounded by stars pommel. Shark skin and gilt wire grip. 33 1/2" overall. Condition: 60% of gilt finish on guard. Wear on grips. Provenance: Purchased at Dave Dugas Le Petit Soldier Shop, New Orleans LA in 1978.
