Classic Pre-War Griffin and Howe 1903 Springfield Sporter in 30-06 Caliber
Made circa 1930 by Griffin and Howe. Sporter has blued 21-1/2" round "Poldi-Antinori" (pre-war Czech steel company) marked steel rifled barrel in 30-06 caliber. Barrel has "No 567 Griffin &Howe Inc. New York" address in front of Quarter rib with banded ramp front sight and Czech "Poldi-Antinori 30-06" marking on left side. Blued 1903 Springfield action with jeweled bolt and modified trigger with 1903 Non-detachable blued steel floorplate and standard three position safety with cutoff switch. Action is fitted with Griffin and Howe side mount base and has action drilled for Lyman 48S. Walnut classic G&H checkered pistol grip stock, right cheekpiece with steel grip cap and Bakelite buttplate with horn forend cap. Classic rifle with great look. LOP: 13-3/4". CALIBER/GA: 30-06. High condition quality gun with 95%+ blue with some light freckling and edge wear. Wood has 90% varnish with handling marks and some bruises with sharp checkering. Excellent bore with crisp mechanics.
