Claudio Pulicati - Vase - Gea

[ translate ]

"A flower is enough to move the air. " Gea is a single-flower vase characterised by a thick outer shell, a rough and harsh coating, apparently insensitive to life, but which can hide a flowery bed. A metaphor of a germinal place, of metamorphosis and individual introspection. The arid rock of a frightening and murderous volcano is transformed into a refuge, a place of love that guards a flower. Available in ivory white, blue, coral pink, yellow, red, black and violet. It has been designed in three dimensions: Small: 12 x 12 cm. Medium: 20 x 20 cm. Large: 28 x 28 cm. Entirely handmade in a numbered series. Claudio Pulicati's ceramic creations intend to link essential, refined and experimental design to the infinite material power of clay. The intention is to combine the most ancient techniques of ceramic processing with the artisan innovation of recent years, through repeated experimentation. The intent is to make each object the custodian of the essence that characterises the island of Ischia, in which it is designed and produced; that the object can sublimate in itself that vital magma represented by its waters, its land and its history.
