Coalport was a porcelain factory established between 1780 and 1790 by John Rose. This company purchased the Caughley Factory in 1799, Swansea in 1820, and Nantgarw in 1828. Many antique pieces were unmarked.
Since 1891, the crown was used as the signature and seal of its porcelain.
