Coffered wooden ceiling tile, painted table - Wood - 15th century

A painted tile from Lombardy. 15th Century. It was part of a coffered ceiling, typical of the Italian Renaissance mansions of the time. The tile was part of a cycle of painted panels depicting the Zodiac. This panel, in particular, depicts the first Zodiac sign, the Aries, a symbol of Spring and Nature renewal as well as of creative strength and energy. It shows some retouches made after the 15th century, as well as a wood replenishment (see photos) . The packaging will be the most accurate and the item will ship via a courier service.
