Colima Pihuamo Style Standing Female Figure

[ translate ]

300 BCE. Pre-Columbian West Mexico, Colima, Pihuamo Style, ca. 300 BCE – 300 CE. A tall and elegant standing female figure from the Pihuamo sculptural tradition of the Colima region. She wears a broad, ribbed cap and large earspools, with traces of cream pigment highlighting the neckline and garment edges. Typical of the Pihuamo style, the figure presents simplified but confident modeling, a strong silhouette, and characteristic facial features including coffee-bean eyes and a small incised mouth.
