Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A charming hand-built terracotta model of a chosa or jungle dwelling with a domed roof topped by an arch form that is embellished with repeated lozenge-shaped appliques and doubles as a handle. A fascinating visual record of ancient vernacular architecture from the Colima peoples! Size: 4" W x 4.75" H (10.2 cm x 12.1 cm)
