Collection of 6 heads carved in wood - Wood - XVIII / XIX century
These heads carved in noble woods were certainly part of the decoration of ancient coffers called "bambocci", in great fashion between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. The heads were the drawer handles. A quick analysis of the styles and type of wood allows us to believe that this small collection comes from at least three different pieces of furniture, all of a similar era. On the back you can see two different methods of fastening to the front of the drawer: nails in three of the heads and wooden pins in two others. The darker one was not a handle, but a decorative frieze. They are all in good condition, the original patina has been removed, but traces remain in various places. The dimensions are between 8 and 10 cm in height.
