Collection of forty-nine Horse Brasses with a book. Group includes some of the early forms typical of those used by the Saracens and Romany people to ward off the 'evil eye' as well as those commemorative, heraldic, sport and agricultural motifs produced during the latter half of the 19th C, the heyday of these crossover collectibles. Included with the group is the 1953 edition of "All About Horse Brasses" by H .S. Richards.
