Colombia: , Nueva Granada 8 Reales 1837 BOGOTA-RS MS64 NGC,...
Nueva Granada 8 Reales 1837 BOGOTA-RS MS64 NGC, Bogota mint, KM92, WR-9, Elizondo-23, Restrepo-193.1. Veiled in a steel patina interspersed with gentle accents of sea-green and peripheral apricot, this wonderful selection of the type preserves the highest degree of originality while maintaining a rich eye appeal that would be difficult to match, much less exceed. Even under its softly laid tone, silvery luster careens over the fields to illuminate fully Mint State surfaces that appear essentially gem, with only the most trivial and nearly invisible hints of friction occurring throughout. Only a single representative certifies more highly at NGC, though upon close review of the offering in hand, this perhaps conservatively graded example may still well be its equal. Ex. Millennia Collection (Goldberg Auction 46B, May 2008, Lot 1030)
