Colt Officers Lightweight 45 ACP Storage Case and Original Box

This lot consists of an original storage and retail presentation set for a Colt semi-automatic pistol. The set includes a white cardboard outer sleeve featuring a montage of historical Colt advertisements, a portrait of Samuel Colt, and the Colt logo. An adhesive factory label on the side of the sleeve includes the printed Colt logo and lists the following specifications: CALIBER 45 CAL, BARREL LENGTH 3 1/2, FINISH BLUE, MODEL DA9890, and S/N DL01789. A separate tan adhesive label is applied over the first, reading OFFICERS LIGHTWEIGHT 45 ACP 3. The interior component is a blue molded plastic hard-shell carrying case with an embossed Colt logo in a circular cartouche on the lid. The interior of the case is contoured for a compact semi-automatic pistol and contains a red cardstock warning hangtag with white text, a white pamphlet titled COLT FIREARMS AUTHORIZED REPAIR SERVICE STATIONS AND PARTS DISTRIBUTORS, and additional folded original paperwork. The base of the interior case features the molded warning NEVER PUT A LOADED GUN IN THIS CASE. The outer sleeve measures approximately 12 1/2 inches in length.
