In this original, handwritten, colonial era, 7.5" x 7.5" Connecticut Treasury Receipt, Tim Bigelow of Middletown redeemed CT notes of the issues of March 1759, March 1760, and February and May (year not stated), for a bill of exchange. Joseph Talcott Jr. has signed the receipt as clerk of the Treasurer's office. His father was Colonial Treasurer at that time. Lightly toned and in excellent condition. An interesting Colonial Currency related item in excellent condition.
