Pair of carved, gilded and lacquered shelves (consoles) in stone pine wood. Venice, second half of the 19th century. Hand carved and gouache gilded in 24 kt gold. Top is painted with egg tempera to resemble a faux marble. Artwork consists of a pair of items, very well executed and preserved. Only bears normal signs of ageing and restorations.
