Continental Porcelain Sevres-Style Vase with Hand Painted Vignette. Baluster-form vase with everted mouth and swelling foot, with pink-ground body and applied white-painted plastic decorative motifs. Painted in polychrome enamels with a scene of farmers at play with birds among hayfields reserved within gilt band and scrolls; applied white plastic foliate decorations to the body. Crossed L 'a' mark to the underside. Lightly-incised numerals near the false Sévres mark. Continental. Circa 1950, the metal appliques of later date. {Approximate dimensions: 21 1/2 inches high.}. Condition: Applied plastic is peeling in some areas. Some surface marks throughout. No apparent cracks, chips, or repairs.
