A huge and beautifully painted 19th century interpretation of the education of The Virgin after Jean-Baptiste Jouvenet (French, 1644-1717) . ; the original of which is in the Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence. The original Florentine hand carved frame is stunning. Please not that due to Brexit and the pandemic shipping can sometimes take longer than usual. We always aim to ship within 3 days of the auctioneers confirming receipt of bidders payment. We will insure the painting for shipping but cannot guarantee the safe shipping of antique frames. Also please note that successful the bidder will be liable to pay all customs charges associated with the import into the country of destination which could include VAT or Import duties. Each EU country appears to be deciding their own charges as post-Brexit period extends and we also draw bidders attention to the fact that customs duties are varying from country to country as are delivery time-scales which are particularly slow in Italy. The painting is within a hand carved Italian 19th Century Florentine gilt frame which suggests it may have been painted by an Italian artist. The overall dimensions including the magnificent Italian hand carved gilt frame is 150 cm x 105 cm and the painting itself an impressive sized 105 cm x 70cm. The painting comes from a private UK collection. The painting is unlined and has been professionally restored where paint losses had historically occurred. The canvas could ideally do with a little tightening but overall the painting is in good condition given it's antiquity. There are cross-centre stretcher bar ( see photo) impressions to the horizontal but they do not detract significantly in our opinion. We can not ever guarantee the safe shipping of antique ornate frames but the painting will be insured and we will take every care and package professionally. Please not due to the pandemic and post-brexit issues with shipping some items to the EU from the UK that some delays in the shipping may be experienced. Overall this wonderful painting is in good condition for it's age and has wonderful colours and tonality. We will insure the painting for shipping but cannot guarantee the safe shipping of antique frames. Please note : Shipping to Gera=many is difficult at present. This reflects the higher shipping costs to that country as our shipping agent only has access to one parcel company at the moment. The frame is therefore offered as a gift. PLEASE NOTE WE WILL BE TRAVELLING TO INTERNATIONAL ART EXHIBITIONS BETWEEN 14TH NOVEMBER 2021 and DECEMBER 3rd 2021 and therefore will only be able to ship paintings sold up to and including the 11 th of November but on the basis they have been paid for. All paintings sold after the 14th of November will be shipped after the 5th of December 2021 but we anticipate no later than the 8th of December.
