Continental Silver and Malachite Compact, Late Nineteenth-Early Twentieth Century. The cover painted in the center with a neoclassical portrait within a silver oval frame, each corner chased with a bat mask issuing a flower stem, all reserved on a malachite ground, the interior cover with a mirror, the cover edges and box engine-turned, marked "800" within an oval on the interior cover. Together with a guilloche enamel and white metal evening purse, the cover reserved with an oval enameled bow-tied rose spray, the interior with mirror and fitted compartments, bar and chain link strap. (2) Compact: H: 2 in., W: 2.875 in., D: .5 in. Purse: H: 2 in., W: 3 in., D: 1 in.
