Scarce vintage circa 1961 Convair Astronautics identification badge, 2Ë in diameter, reading: "214, A. N. Gordon, 39550." Reverse bears a Whitehead & Hoag maker's mark. In fine condition. These rare badges were issued to employees of Convair's astronautics division based at Cape Canaveral. Convair manufactured the first Atlas rockets, including those used for the crewed orbital flights of Project Mercury.
