First English edition, three 12mo volumes; bound in original quarter calf and marbled boards, spine stamped in gold and blind with a black stamped cartouche containing gilt title; scattered light spots and some foxing throughout each; joints starting and cracked, a few nicks to the spine labels, endpapers lightly foxed; ownership inscriptions "Walmsgate" dated 1841 and 1843; 7 5/8 x 4 1/2 in.

[Together with] The Deerslayer, Philadelphia: Lea & Blanchard, 1841. First American edition, two 12mo volumes; bound in original publisher's purple muslin, with paper spine labels; foxed, scattered stains; bindings worn with clumsy repairs; endpapers toned; ex libris American attorney Osmond Kessler Fraenkel (1888-1983), with bookplates; 7 1/8 x 4 1/4 in.
