Technique: Walnut, walnut burl, partially gilded. Bronze, fire-gilt. Marble top.
Description: Three-bay cambered body on acanthus feet. Indented upper drawer gilded moulding. Florally
carved and gilded frame. Fine, openwork rocaille mounts.
Measurement: 89,5x67x48cm.
Mathias Ortmann was one of Scandinavia's best ebenists. He opened his first workshop in
Copenhagen in 1727. Soon afterwards, he was appointed purveyor to the court of the Danish
royal family. After his death, his widow continued to run the workshop.
