Copper Sconce, Sad Iron & Barometer

A collection of three decorative and functional items comprising a hand-hammered copper wall sconce, a miniature iron, and a circular wood-cased barometer. The wall-mounted candle sconce is made of copper featuring a hand-hammered, dimpled repousse texture across its elongated, oval-topped backplate. The candle socket is attached to the lower portion of the backplate with rivets and includes an integral drip pan with four upturned petal-form guards. The reverse shows evidence of manufacturing marks that are not legible due to heavy oxidation and surface residue. The miniature sad iron is constructed of cast iron with traces of an original nickel-plated finish remaining. It features a decorative rope-twist handle and a pointed sole plate. A faint diamond-shaped indentation is visible in the center of the sole plate, though it contains no readable text. The circular aneroid barometer is housed in a segmented hardwood case. The dial is protected by glass within a plated metal bezel. The cream-colored face is printed with weather indicators in Gothic-style script reading Stormy, RAIN, Change, FAIR, and Very Dry. A stylized cursive letter S logo is positioned above the 6 o'clock mark. The bottom of the dial is printed with the characters MADE IN GERMANY. The reverse of the wooden housing features a brass hanging tab and four small circular open screw holes surrounding the central mechanical aperture.
