Pair of rare Retour d'Egypte bronze candlesticks from the Neoclassical era dating back to the 19th century.

The candlesticks have a circular base with a palmette perimeter. The stem, however, is made in Egyptian style and features two Egyptian figures with folded arms above the flared cup-shaped candlestick with various chiseled facets. Excellent proportions, definition and pathos make these two candlesticks an excellent piece of furniture.

Traces of silvering in the base and gilding in the stem and cup, so the candlesticks were probably silvered and gilded. Excellent general condition and beautiful antique patina, the only small flaw is the candlestick on the left has the figure with a chipped foot (see photo) .
