Erudite painter, Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010) adopted a clear line in the 1990s, close to David Hockney. “In Wonderland” is undoubtedly a nod to Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures. A great master of color in the wake of Gauguin and Matisse, Corneille achieved such perfection in the design of lithographic plates that he gives the illusion of finding himself face to face with the painter's brushstrokes.
Original lithograph by the painter born in Liège to Dutch parents, founding member of the Cobra movement.
