The quality of the lithographic plate is such that Corneille gives the illusion of having the brushstrokes in front of you. The double face is a nod to the Cubist period.

Identified as an important figure in the renewal of abstraction in Northern Europe, Corneille gradually moved from 1967 towards a rich and colorful New Figuration which coordinates with the Pop Art taste of the 1960s and 1970s, and exhibited at alongside Andy Warhol, Arman, César, etc.
