Central American Republic Counterstamped "Carrillo" Real ND (1841-1842) G6 NGC, San Jose mint, KM-Unl. Host: United States Capped Bust 10 Cents 1831; Counterstamp: Type 1 radiant 6-pointed star (VF Standard), control test-punch between UNITED and STATES. An all too scarce type featuring a United States host, where only an exceedingly small handful for all denominations of Type 1 marks have been struck upon, and always demanding impressive premiums. Issued by the Don Braulio Carrillo administration to regulate the foreign silver in circulation with the round dump removed to cover the costs of the regulation labor.
