Covered Vessel with Qianlong Mark

This carved cinnabar lacquer covered box is richly decorated with finely carved figural, landscape, and floral motifs. The domed cover depicts an elegant garden scene with figures in conversation, while the exterior alternates between narrative landscape panels featuring pavilions, scholars, pine trees, and rock formations, and floral panels carved against intricate geometric diaper grounds.The interior is finished in black lacquer and further embellished with delicate gilt floral decoration, providing a refined contrast to the richly carved cinnabar exterior. The deeply carved relief and carefully layered compositions exemplify the decorative sophistication associated with the Chinese carved lacquer tradition.The base bears the six-character mark "Da Qing Qianlong Nian Zhi".
