Crime of Cuba Walker Evans Carleton Beals Fourth Print. This is a fourth printing of The Crime of Cuba by Carleton Beals, featuring 31 aquatone illustrations from photographs by Walker Evans. Interestingly enough, it has a third printing dust jacket, printed with a photograph by Walker Evans. Book is hardcover with black cloth covered boards, and deckle cut edges. What appears to be a newspaper clipping folded inside the book reads, "Beals wrote a fervent expose of American complicity with the practices of the oppressive Machado regime; Evans captured more of the formal beauty of Havana."
