Modest Morató Ojer (1909-1993) Born into a family of artisan jewelers. He learned the jeweler's trade in his father's workshop, but very soon he became independent to dedicate himself to enamel.
Receive classes from Master Miquel Soldevila. He expanded his knowledge of the trade in a self-taught way, studying ancient techniques, both Eastern and Western. "
Imaginative and creative, he develops and applies enamel on his designs, whether they are jewelry, large ceiling lamps, chalices, crosses, etc. He resurrects many techniques and creates others, such as enamel marquetry.
He was a professor at the Massana School in Barcelona. He traveled to several countries investigating the enamel techniques of great masters. Thanks to his deep knowledge of oriental arts and ancient enamels, he has been one of the main promoters of the renaissance of Enamel Art in Spain.
