[ translate ]

Details: Cuckoo Clock Mfg Co LINDEN 8-DAY CLOCK BLACK FOREST STYLE RINGING WALL CLOCK c1975 Collectible German Mechanical Cuckoo Style Clock

Maker: Cuckoo Clock Mfg. Co./Linden

History of Maker: Sometime shortly before the outbreak of World War II, a pair of Jewish immigrants in New York City founded the Cuckoo Clock Manufacturing Company. Realizing that it was significantly more cost effective to import Black Forest clocks directly from Germany, the company did little to no manufacturing itself, instead marketing clocks from companies including Kammerer and Herr. Later the company changed its name to Linden Clock Manufacturing Company. After undergoing several ownership and name changes in the 1980s, the company ultimately came to be owned by Alliance Time which appears to have discontinued the Linden line.

Country of Origin: Germany

Year of Manufacture: c.1975

Model: Wall Clock

Serial Number: N/A

Clock Type: Cuckoo-Style 8-Day Clock

Approximate Height: 17.5" not including pendulum

Model History & Features: This model was only produced for a short period of time and is notable for its unique features. When the hour strikes, the top door opens revealing a man pulling a rod to ring a bell.

Condition: This clock is composed of 90% of its original parts. The backboard has been replaced and comes loose. It has been suggested that replacing a pair of round head screws with a pair of wood screws would allow the backboard to sit flush with the case. The bell-ringer in the window has a damaged arm. The clock is in fair condition overall and may be most useful for parts or as a restoration project.

Condition / Notes: The condition of this clock as stated above is accurate at the time of cataloging. The clock may require some adjustment, tuning, or minor maintenance upon receipt.
