Northeast China, Ordos culture, Scythian people, around the 6-4th century BC Deer traditionally symbolise longevity and wealth in Chinese culture because they have a very long life. The Scythians were a vast group of nomadic riders and their art often referred to horses. The Ordos culture flourished during the Bronze Age and early Iron age in present Inner Mongolia and is known for its nomadic culture and rich traditions of decorative ironwork, as shown in this piece. The culture of the Ordos is the most eastern manifestation known of Scythian culture.
