Cupboard - Baroque - Oak - 18th century

Representative Baroque officer’s cabinet 1798, solid oak, spherical feet, frame with profile and 4 octagons, body with 10 oak frames with fillings, majestic cornice, CASPER*HENRICH*HAUPTMAN*FON*BLANCKEN*ANO*1798, design of the front consists of countless polygonal fields that each frame a strong profile, reflects the military bastions of a Baroque city. The self-confident client may have been their commander. Accordingly, the frame and head consist of approximately 30 cm wide oak planks. Also, all other parts of the cabinet, even the rear panel, are also made of solid oak. Amazingly good condition. No wood pests, all wooden parts free of irregular warping. The hinges of the doors and the door lock indicate a revision from about 100 years ago, in which all surfaces were varnished in dark brown, making the grain even clearer. After a century of use, the glaze is slightly worn off on some edges, giving the cabinet a unique and inimitable patina in this way.
