[ translate ]

**Originally Listed At $250**

Pre-Columbian, central coast Peru, Chimu, ca. 1100 to 1470 CE. A finely preserved blackware pottery jar depicting a highly stylized llama or alpaca with bent legs in relief, a thick neck, and a perky tail. The bulbous ovoid vessel has a round but stable base and a cylindrical spout emanating from the top. The head is wrapped with a rope halter around the thick snout and over the perked ears.
