Superb housewife from the house QUEILLÉ (formerly LAPPARRA) with 18 cutlery in Vermeil (Gold on 950/1000 solid silver) Includes: 18 Vermeil Dessert Spoons (weight: 949 g.) 17 Vermeil Dessert Forks (weight: 844 g.) 18 Fruit knives (grip and vermeil blade) (896 g.) 18 Dessert knives (silver grip steel blade) (908 g.) (The blades of the steel knives have been re-polished by the goldsmith. They have a superb shine but there are still some black marks at the end of the blades. Please see the photo of the blades) QUEILLE goldsmith in Paris The Queillé family, Parisian manufacturers of silver cutlery and tableware during the 19th century, enjoyed a longevity of almost a century, during which the company passed from father to son. Hallmark "an antique train between the initials PQ" The spoon maker Pierre-François Queillé I registers his punch in 1808 and continues his activity until 1834. Pierre-François Queillé II, registers his print on October 23, 1834. The hallmark is crossed out on November 27, 1846 (register of charges 1820-1840) . Then Eugène Queillé, silversmith, takes over the workshop, settles down at 8 Petite rue Saint-Roch-Poissonnière, registers his punch on February 11, 1847. In 1874 the Queillés are installed at 11 rue des Petits-Carreaux in a neighborhood of goldsmiths where they continue their activity until 1895, when the workshop is taken over by Antoine Lapparra.
